The course aims to train different types of professional figures related to the design and creation of costumes for theatre, cinema and fashion: costume designer, tailors, dressers, stylists, pattern and model makers. At the end of the course the student will be able to follow the entire creative process of a costume: conception and realization of sketches, selection of fabric, cutting, packaging, dyeing, how to apply materials, conception and realization of jewels, antiquing, fittings, performance supervision, maintenance and archiving. Through the study of the history of aesthetics and costume, the practice of making sketches, the research of fabrics, the deepening of the techniques of historical cutting, dyeing, decoration, creation of accessories, the student will be able to conceive and produce a whole selection of costumes, to organize and manage a costume department during the different phases of a show, theatre production or event. The course includes internships at prestigious theatre costume departments, theatrical institutions and festivals in Italy and abroad, including the Fondazione Arena di Verona, Atelier Nicolao of Venice, Royal Theater of Madrid, Zarzuela Theater of Madrid, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Tirelli Costume Shop in Rome, Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, Teatro Regio in Parma.
